This little cruiser will interest some of our readers. She has just been built at Poole, and was designed by E. P. Hart to meet the requirements of her owners....

 Three men and a boat arrived here last week- all of them remarkable in their own right. First of all, the yacht Fiona. It is a 42ft wooden ketch built in England 65 years ago, still going strong. Its distinctive 12ft bowsprit is the same length as its beams. On board are Mr. Brian McGarry, who set sail from England five years ago; Mr. Gavin Young, a prize-winning journalist; and Mr. Wilfred Thesiger, a naturalist and traveller extraordinary who is here to visit the Gunung Mulu rain forest expedition in Sarawak...

Orange County Recorder - Newport Beach:
Don Burns rows across Newport Harbor to his 42-foot cutter Fiona, which was built in Poole, England in 1912. Two guys in a motorboat pause in the middle of the harbor to toss a compliment Fiona's way. "She's a beauty, That's for sure!" one shouts out, raising a beer can in salute.

 For most of her life, Fiona was based near her home shipyards in England - Burns, her fifth owner, has all her old logbooks from voyages past, But the man he bought Fiona from in the late 1980s had traveled the globe with her for nearly two decades, taking Fiona 2 1/2 times around the world...

Ha superado dos veces Cabo de Homos, en el extremo sur de America:
 Este velero de apenas 42 pies (12,8 metros), ha recorrido el Pacifico sur, Hawai, Alaska, las cercanias del Circulo Artico, todo Centroamerica y el Mediterraneo. 93 aņos en el agua. El Fiona se construyo en 1912, el mismo aņo en el que se hundio el majestuoso Titanic, en el puerto de Poole, en Dorset, al sur de Inglaterra...
